Q1: What is the Optimum e-Assessment Shop?

In the Optimum e-Assessment Shop, you can buy an online exam. The exams are delivered through the Optimum e-Assessment platform and monitored using Proctorio click here to see how to set up your environment.

Q2: Who can take exams through the Optimum e-Assessment Shop?

Students who have received an exam voucher code from LMU can purchase and take exams in the Optimum Assessment Platform.

Q3: When is the exam scheduled?

The exams will take place on 2025. April 28th, 29th, and 30th at a fixed time. Please verify the corresponding local time based on your geographical location, to ensure that you start on time.

Q4: How do I purchase an exam?

To purchase an exam, create an account, log in, enter your voucher code during checkout, and complete the payment using PayPal or a credit card. Note that the exam voucher unlock can only be used once per exam.

Q5: Can I purchase multiple exams at once?

If you applied for more than one master’s program at the Faculty of Biology at LMU Munich, and have received multiple voucher codes by LMU Munich by email, you will have to purchase and take a separate online exam for each master’s program.

For administrative reasons, it is only possible to purchase one online exam at a time. However, you have the option of purchasing more than one exam in total. Each exam must be paid for individually. You will need a unique voucher code for each exam, which will be sent to you by LMU Munich by e-mail.

Q6: What payment methods are accepted?

You'll need a PayPal account or a credit card.

Q7: Can I reuse a voucher code?

No, each voucher code can only be used once.

Q8: What do I need to take the exam?

You will need a computer (exams are not supported on a mobile device or tablet/iPad), Google Chrome browser, a stable internet connection, a webcam, and the Proctorio extension. 5Mbps download/upload is minimally required to have a stable exam experience

Q10: Can I use a different browser?

We strongly recommend using Google Chrome or Edge.

Q11: What should I do before starting the exam?

Ensure you are in a quiet, private room and test your equipment.

Q12: What happens during the exam?

The exam is proctored using Proctorio, which monitors your activity through your webcam and microphone.

Q13: What if I experience technical issues during the exam?

Contact Proctorio support immediately.

Q14: How will I receive my exam results?

Your exam results will be provided by LMU.

Q15: How long does it take to receive my results?

The processing time varies. Please contact LMU for details.

Q16: Can I get a refund if I change my mind or fail the exam?

No, refunds are not possible once an exam has been purchased.

Q17: How is my data used?

Your data is used for processing payments.
